This website has grammar quizzes, vocabulary quizzes, crossword puzzles, ESL podcasts (for listening practice), ESL videos (through youtube.com), and a link you can use to get the quizzes on your iPhone or iPad.

 


2. www.5minuteenglish.com

This website has grammar, reading, vocabulary, listening, pronunciation and slang/idiom lessons. This website is really good if you want to practice your writing skills.

 


3. www.agendaweb.org

This website offers links to hundreds of free websites which practice verbs, vocabulary, grammar, reading and listening. It also has links to websites which have videos and songs.

 


4. www.awesomestories.com

This website is better for upper level students. This website offers readings(with "slides" to show images about the reading), videos, audio recordings, and vocabulary practice.

 


5. www.breakingnewsenglish.com*

This website offers short, realistic news articles to practice reading skills. Each reading is followed by vocabulary and exercises. You cannot do these exercises online, but the answer key is at the bottom of the webpage for each reading.

 


6. www.cdlponline.org*

This website is organized by themes (for example. "Work", "Family", "Law and Governmenet", etc.) Each unit has many readings (with listening practice) and videos, and each reading/video has vocabulary practice (listening, dictation, matching, choose an answer, etc.)

 


7. www.ello.org

This website offers videos and audio recordings to practice your listening skills. The people who speak are from all around the world, so you will hear a wide variety or accents. Many  of the videos and recordings have exercises and games to do to check your comprehension.

 


8. www.englishpage.com

This website offers a weekly lesson (with a tutorial and practice), vocabulary practice, verb tense practice, practice the conditional, modals, gerunds, and prepostions, mini-tutorials, linksto free newspapers and magazines to practice reading, links to real radio programes to practice listening and crossword games to practice vocabulary.

When you open this website, go to "stuff for students". You can find grammar lessons (explanations & charts), a list of idioms with meanings and examples, a list of slang with meanings and examples, a list of phrasal verbs with meanings and examples and quizzes about geography, idioms & slang, grammar, history, people, reading comprehension, world history, sience and punctuation.

This website has 365 readings for ESL students, Each reading is followed by voabulary exercises and exercises to check your understwwanding.

 


11. www.eslgo.com

This website is really more for teachers who teach ESL. Howeverm it has grammar and vocabulary quizzes for you to practice. If also offers English online lessons and a forum for ESL students to communicate with other ESL students around the world.

 


12. www.esl-lab.com*

This is Randall's Cyber Listening Lab, a fantastic website to practice your listening skills. Listening selections are organized by difficulty-easy, medium, difficult. Each listening exercise has a script you can follow, highlighted vocabulary, vocabulary activities, and post-listening activities. This website also has links to other websites which practice idioms, pronounciation, and grammar (with clear explanations). There is also a link called "Daily ESL" which focuses your practice on life skills.

This website has literally hundreds of grammar exercises, grammar, worksheets, vocabulary tests, video-based exercises (for listening practice), and pronounciation practice.

 


14. www.listenaminute.com

This website has many one-minute recordings followed by exercises to practice your listening, Howeverm the speaker i British, so the accent may be difficult for you to understand at first.

 


15. www.manythings.org

This website offers vocabulary practice (with games-like hangman, word searches, crossword, matching quizzes, picture games and word games), pronunciation/listening practice, grammar quizzes, listening/reading practice, practice singing songs in English, a list of proverbs and slang, and spelling/vocabulary quizzes.

 


16. www.real-english.com

This website has videos of real people that can help you improve your listening and pronunciation. Each video also has exercises for additional practice.

This website offers many links to websites that help beginning and intermediate level students with reading skills, listening skills, writhing skills, and grammar.
